Hi

Yes, in fact, single keywords are not generally effective... and they can be expensive. They are too vague and you would end up wasting money on the wrong customer. Your keyword list (the words that when people type will trigger your ads) are going to be very specific and will include things like "marble polishing," "marble refinishing," "travertine repair" and you can have the ads appear only in areas you service. Google provides tools that actually show you how often key phrases and keywords are used so you can know which ones to bid on.

Here are a few key things to know about Adwords:
Adwords is a Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising program. Bing also has its own and so does Facebook, but since Google gets the overwhelming majority of the searches on the web, it makes sense to start with Google.

PPC MANAGEMENT We do offer PPC management to our Partners. If you have any questions, or want to do Adwords, contact me. If there is enough interest, I think a webinar would be a good idea. In fact, If you would be interested in me presenting a webinar about PPC advertising, please let me or Doug know.

FEEDBACK On another note. We do like to gather a lot of feedback from the Partners on which advertising things work --or have been a waste of money.... Houzz, Angies List, Yelp, Home Advisor, Amazon.com... the information we gather has great value to all of you.

PRINT ADS Some of you, quite a few actually, put print ads in Home magazines. We like to get input on your successes with these. (By the way, we design a lot of ads and we know how to make effective ads. Even when the publications offer free ad design, they are often not great.)

Will AdWords work with multiple Words like marble polishing, granite sealing, limestone refinishing,  Because if just the single word Marble, Granite, limestone, are put in wouldn't we come up with all the fabrication companies

I have spoken with Houzz and was working on costs for Partners to advertise. I thought it was was quite costly to be in any significant market area. In my humble opinion those marketing dollars are better spent on Google Adwords. Tony, or anyone else that wants to know more about Adwords, give me a call. I can answer your questions... what it is, how it works, etc. If there is enough interest overall we can do a webinar.
