Yes if it was crystallization than you should ask if it appeared after polishing.  Most of the time if that happened it was caused by not honing the stone high enough on carrara you must go to 1800  and let the floor dry before polishing with crystallization.  And to fix that situation just repolish with 5X.
But I also feel what he is describing it is coming from below the surface.

If it 20 years old ask how long the yellowing has been there. It could be moisture or it could be setting materials and I bet it's been in the stone along time.  If that is the case you will probably never be able to remove it if it has migrated over the years from below.  You can remove the scratches and wear and restore the gloss.  If it's only 60 feet how much are they willing to spend to remove the yellowing it may not be that much more to remove and replace. If I was going to spend 2 or 3 thousand to try to poltice multiple times and then restore I would rather spend 4 to 6 grand to replace.

Partners, I have a 6x10 Marble foyer with scratches and yellowing in the center of most of the tiels. Floor is around 20 years plus. Looks like iron. What is the proper way to test for iron and to correct problem.
Thanks! Richard
