Stu, do you run these wet or dry? If dry, how are you dealing with dust?  Can you run these in a vibrating Palm sander vs. an angle grinder?

Here is a good guide to using trizacts: http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/49645O/3mtm-trizacttm-film-for-finishing-solid-surfaces.pdf
RS Hughes is a national distributor of 3M: www.rshughes.com
We use the following grits
60 grit (3m doesn't call them grit)
100 grit
A35
A10
A5
cerium oxide pads-creates a great polish on hard surface materials if you have to go that high.

Stu, where is a good place to order trizact and scotch brite pads? I have a quartzite counter that I want to bring up to a satin finish.

We use trizact pads from 3m but you can use festool or sia sandpapers as well.
They are expensive but work wonders on this stuff.
I would try and clean the crack-grind it with with 100 grit trizact and then fill and sand with a higher grit.
Finish with a maroon or silver 3m scotch brite pad for honed or high honed.
