We use Ceramic Restoration Cream from National Chemical Lab to polish porcelain tiles. Works very well. For scratches and chips you can use Porc a fix, which is sort of dab on glaze that comes in different colors.

Unfortunately  my lead tech tried to take out a nice scratch on a porcelain tile. The home owner has extra tiles , but before we go the replacement route. We got a nice shine tile but not the same as the surrounding tiles. I found this advice on a recent question " To refinish the porcelain (tiles or fixtures) you can use aluminum oxide powders but it is easier to use a crème cleanser, Pro-Link or Emerald are some of the product names. These will cling and are very effective, will leave a polished finish. "  i   I tried to access the achieves for to search past topics on this subject but was unable to access  the archives. Any advice on service a porcelain tile to a nice gloss would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike,
Alex found a polishing compound used for auto detailing that worked on a porcelain tile floor.  He did it by hand with the makita.

Anybody ever refinish a porcelain floor?   I just looked at one where somebody used an acid (ammonium bi-flouride or hydrofluoric) for the grout and it etched the tile. It is a mess. I have never attempted to flatten and grind vitrified porcelain tile. For a polishing compound thinking of the Reulin H powder. Any comments?

Hi all:

New one for me. Have to do a bid for a hotel with 86 rooms which have soaking tubs. The owners out east say they had a guy who refinishes them out there with aluminum oxide. Has anyone experienced this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
