Felipe,

The Cheetah pads and Pucks work great on terrazzo floors. However before using these pads I would recommend you get trained for the best results proper weight needs to be added to your floor machine.

The time process you learned is completely different.  You will hear from guys that says these pads don’t work, these are the guys that never got trained on how to use them correctly.

I would strip it with a black pad, it might take some time because they probably have a urethane coating on it from the original install and maybe other times when coated.
That is how they finished Terrazzo back in the day
Then I would try the Cheetah pads steps 1 & 2 if you don't have a high enough hone maybe #3 pad then polish with 5x
The picture you see was just as I listed above, strip then 2 step sand then polish

Thank you all.
You all are great , best network
I screwed up and priced too cheap by half of should be this is historic building is the archdiocese of oklahoma building , bottom line is 2300 hundred Sq feet of terrazzo never restore before and my estimate was around 11 thousand and seems to be to expensive to them,  so I guess even better for me.

If you grinding it off just use water no stripper. Stripper softens/melts the wax which will gum up your diamonds and they wouldn't cut right just kind of glide/hydroplane on the surface

I would be careful with using stripper with your abrasives, The stripper will sometimes eat away at the glue that holds the Velcro to the diamond pad and you will ruin a good set of diamonds

I would plate grind or 70 metal diamond with stripper. On a terrazzo floor that is that old you need to start with a heavy grit anyway since a terrazzo floor is very wavy and will have low spots.  I would be at 6 to 8 dollars a sq. ft depending basecove and possible repairs.  This is based on you bringing it to a high gloss natural polish.

Felipe,

On similar sized stripping jobs, working solo I've done 175-200 sq ft per hr. This assumes it's pretty wide open spaces and no issues with stripping.

Good luck.

I agree with Randy-In many cases we will start terrazzo jobs with 70 metals right to the wall. After that first cut we will strip before progressing forward.

If you grind first you will make stripping less tedious for sure.

I agree with Brian- In the beginning it can be confusing to price stripping. How many days will it take you to strip the floor?

You need to figure out how the the stripping is going to take. Then calculate the time by your rate. Taking an arbitrary figure that someone else charges is not the way to price your work. Just my two cents.

Felipe,

Charge at least .50-.75 cents a square foot. Remember, that crappie has to be dumped somewhere. If you have to haul it away I would charge $1.24-$1.45 per SF. Good luck.
