My Pleasure-
Mosaic's don't have to be 1 inch tiles but any type of decorative design in the stone.
Most mosaic's I see are ground flat and butt joined.
Sounds like a nice job!

Thanks Stu,
First of all, the "mosaic" is not made of small 1" tiles.  I don't have a photo now, but I will try and get one.  The whole outer circumference is made of white marble tiles and white marble areas spread throughout the center of the "Tiger" .  White is probably 60%, rosa is probably 20% and blue granite, the other 20%.  The tiles are installed fairly well and I don't anticipate much lippage.  I wish I had a photo, but I wasn't thinking when I was there on Friday.
Thanks again,
Barry

Wow-that is an awesome job.
You have 490 SF of stone in your mosaic.
3.1415 x 156.25(12.5x12.5) easy formula for circles
pi x radius x 2
radius is half the diameter.
Is the mosaic flat-that will be a big help in your process.
Send pictures if you can.

Thanks Guys,
Stu, the mosaic is 25 feet in diameter in the middle of a 3000 sf (total) floor.  Looks like I'll be ordering some MB-20!
Carl, thanks for your advice.

Happy Holiday to all,
I think you will be fine with the cheetah puck system.
The marble section or area is a no brainer.
The mixed mosaic requires some thought. Is it 25 diameter or just a 25 sq ft mosaic?
It sounds like the mosaic is flat so you wont need to use a number one puck.
Just use 2,3,and 4-then polish with your favorite polishing compound.
I wouldn't use a DIP on that type of floor-with proper honing and polishing techniques you will get good results.
At that point you can use a crystallizer or MB-20 to get a uniform finish.
We are more into traditional diamonds and polishing compounds for floors like these.
You will need to do more steps however as you will treat the mosaic as granite.
Either way you should be fine-let us know if we can help in any way-

I would use the Cheetah puck system 1 through 4 and the 11000 great monkey pad with a little bit of black or white granite polishing powder depending upon what color the stone is. Doing it this way should work out fine for you. If not use a little bit of crystallization with some granite powder.

Subject: Marble granite mixture

Hi Partners,
First of all, I wish all of you a great Holiday season and a very prosperous New Year.  Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.  I am bidding on a large marble restoration project.  In the middle of the floor is a 25 foot circle that is mostly marble, but there is a fair amount of blue granite.  The combination of light marble, rosa marble and blue granite forms the head of a tiger and the stones are placed in an irregular pattern and very close to one another.  In other words, it is almost impossible to tape off the granite or use a hand machine on the marble (or granite).  It has to be done as one surface.  I am thinking of using my cheetah pucks, steps 1-4 and then the 11k monkey pad.
Stu, if you are out there, tell me how to use the MB polishes to achieve a great result!!!
Sorry, no photo, but if I had one you would see what I described above.

Thanks,
Barry
