I clean these all the time, you need to use 50% bleach applied onto the surface ,allow to dwell for 5 to 10 minutes, then scrub with brush, if still present bleach a second time. Then clean with Oxi-clean. We see this on regular bases in Florida around pool Deck. We seal with a solvent based sealer, I do this same process on my own stone by the pool. This will need to be done every 12 to 18 month depending upon the climate the stone is in. We have customer that are on a yearly schedule. From last year we did approximately 40 plus of these cleaning.

Subject: Exterior limestone

Hello Partners, have a Shell Marbella limestone type stone paver tile that's sand set on south exposed patio. The install is 2 years old and a year into it the customer noticed a black stain that seemed to be coming from underneath the surface. It's know very pronounced in some areas (see attached photos). It's more obvious around the pool, especially the portion behind the pool which is always in the shade.

I have sampled it with cleaners such as high ph cleaners, a degreaser, diluted bleach, algae cleaner and also agitated with brushes and a 240grit brush on a makita. It looks better only after scrubbing. This is problematic due to how soft the stone is.

Wanting to find a chemical that reacts or breaks down the black stains.

Hello's team. I am working on an exotic quartzite countertop and I am having difficulty trying to get a high polish. Counter had etching and I used 1500 grit and powder polish which removed stains but some areas are not polishing up as high as customer would like. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks, steve
