Try a little bleach on a paper towel(fold it up about 6 ply or so)-leave the towel on the stain for about an hour.
Should take it out -then hone out the etch and finish.

I have marble with a red wine stain. Just wondering what a good poultice mixture to remove or would honing remove it?
Thank you
