I think you will find That your resins will destroy the inserts,leaving your options to hone by hand, or replace the insets. I have done several like this,In all cases I did everything I could carefully do ,with a floor machine . Honed by hand around insets, covered insets with Gaffers tape and polished the whole floor as normal,with no noticeable difference around insets

Thank you in advance to all
who can help me with this marble tile with mother of pearl inserts.
The inserts are about 2" squares. The inserts are made with 10 rows of
10 small squares of m of p pieces. I don't know how they would react to
a resin diamond honing process followed by a polish, or for that
matter, are they too delicate to survive such a treatment? Obviously I
can use the resins on a hand machine and go around them, but I always
feel that you can see the difference between the hand machine/ floor
machine areas.
Any/ all comments are appreciated. Photos included.
