Be very careful cleaning the tiles. The cream can be scrubbed off using even an 800g or even 1500g d.e.p. monkey pad. Use a topical sealer after an impregnator.
Agree with Mike. I've worked on encaustic tiles several times. They are exceptionally porous and they darken quickly and
easily. If they weren't sealed and maintained from the outset, temper your client's expectations for exceptional results.
These are called encaustic tiles, cement bisk. Think of them l
ike a light coloured paver. They need a super good impregnator. Even then they can still be hard to keep clean so a matte finish topical should be considered, only as a back up plan.
