Try alkaline stripper. If that won't give you acceptable results, powder honing will do (assuming that tiles have honed finish). However this is something that I would ask professional Stone restorer to do.

Subject: Can enhanced sealer on travertine tile backsplash be removed?

I loved the travertine tile before a sealer was even put on. Three people told me it would look even better if I used enhanced sealer on it. Now I like the tile job but I don't love it like before. Is there something I can use to remove the enhancer sealer or do I have to live with it?

Thank you for your help. It is very much appreciated.
