Yes but we can grind the floor flat to expose new grout and then we finish it up to a Polish but that's still a huge expense and they are looking to try and short cut it

I like Randy's idea of re-grouting.
Maybe do a copper cut first then-
I would cut all the grout out,float in new grout(mixed with latex)-standard white or similar. Cut off with diamonds and refinish the floor to high gloss finish.
