I have used lippage diamonds (the rough ones that look like donuts) on the worst black tile glue and they did a great job. They may even be too aggressive. maybe test a combination of adhesive remover me and metals? I really believe in testing.

I would try Jasco. but I feel the glue would have already bled into the stone and would guess you will not get below surface staining out.
