Hi Pat,

I am not offended and I've been in this field for 41 years in the family business. My struggles every day or labor and you describe exactly what the issues are. However the reason I put that up was this little professional level that we need to keep and even though we're frustrated we don't have that luxury to say things like that publicly. Getting work is not the issue getting it done correctly has been an issue. A recent I've been using the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce to vet potential employees. Tomorrow is the last day for a senior technician who is being paid more than he deserved and the reason for letting him to go is the decline of the quality of work that he's doing. It says something for current Society. All interview people and offer them a starting wage and they'll say they don't want to work so many hours because they lose their benefits period without getting political these are the people that are looking for socialism. So if you ever want to chat over the phone I'd be very happy to talk with you maybe we can come up with a better solution to find labor.

I do believe by making the post that you did it definitely spark some people thinking.

Best,
Brian

Well put Doug,
If i offended anybody I apologize. Being in this business and dealing with employees for over 30 years I have developed a little bit of a bitterness towards employees. I have two guys that I pay between $20 and $25 an hour and both of them get benefits personal days sick days and paid holidays. Both of them truly deserve it because they are hard workers. On the other hand we have a file at least 1 inch thick of employees that did not make the grade. These are all people that come in late, don't show up at all, show up hungover or call in at the last minute with some stupid excuse why they're not going to be at work. Then you have the ones that show up every day but can't remember what they did the day before. This is not rocket science and it does not take much effort to do this type of work all it takes is a little bit of Common Sense along with desire to make a living.
Any of you guys that have been doing this type of work for years know what I am talking about.
So again if I offended anybody I apologize and I will try to keep my demented comments to myself.

Hi Guys,

Yes, although made in jest it was not appropriate. We are all aware of this kind of stuff and all of us work hard to keep it in the appropriate language.
Thanks all for keeping this group moving in the right direction all the time.
Have a great day.

Doug

Just so everybody knows I am not making fun of the mentally challenged/retarded. They have no control over what they do. But here's my definition of a standard employee. If any of you Partners happen to find a good intelligent employee with common sense pay them well.
