Here's another picture. It resembles limestone. I think it is some sort of concrete. But it is harder than typical concrete. And the dye/matrix is throughout (the concrete itself is green, not just dyed, if that's what it is).

Hi. This stone was a bear. We went from 200-3000 grit. It would not respond to 5x. When we started working on it,  it was thoroughly etched after 20 years, but no scratches to speak of. Amazingly hard. Does anyone know what this is?  It responds like serpentine but no veins, only white dots and rings.
