The limestone could have natural iron deposit in the stone, trying to remove it may darken the rust stain. Recommend trying to remove the stain by using DE Powder and Iron out.
Mix the iron out per instruction on package, mix with iron out with DE Powder. Apply over the stain cover with Plastic. Place holes in the plastic and allow the poultice to set for a
minimum of 24 hours. Remove the poultice. If the poultice is not totally dry allow to dry un-covered until dried. After dried remove poultice if stain is gone you have success. If the stain is lighter in color re-apply poultice. If stain darkens then you a
pulling the iron from the stone and you will probably need to replace the stone.
Remember the iron out is an acid and will etch the stone. you will need to hone and polish after the poultice.
There is also a product called RSR 2000 from Alpha you can try to use in removing the iron stains.

Hey guys,
The homeowner has a limestone floor that has flooded and now has several prominent rust stains throughout. What would you recommend for removing? We are deciding on trying to poultice them all, to using an acidic
rust cleaner and then re-polishing… No idea off the table as the homeowners are almost ready to R&R. Thanks!
