If it's a plastic coating, you can use an electric 6" oscillating sander pad with hook & loop for Velcro sanding pads. connect it to a shop vacuum.
Use 400, 800, 1000, 1500 sand paper. It may polish out after 800 so do a test to reduce labor.
Polish using a 7" wool pad on a polisher. Must use a wool pad with the compound.
Get the compound and sand disc at an Autobody supplies store. The sandpaper comes in quantities of 50 or 100. Ask for a high shine polishing compound for paint jobs.
This method also works great for cultured marble showers countertops and tub surrounds
