Perhaps you could try testing an area with a product called Klenzstone.
This can be found at Regent Stone Products and I believe it comes in
numbers 1, 2 and 3. The Klenzstone #2 is what I think may help. This
product is easy to use, spray the stone with a pump sprayer, allow a few
minutes of dwell time and then rinse. It has a high salt content so use
caution around plants etc. We have used this for exterior cleaning for
years and it works well.
