It can be painted with an epoxy coating. You just have to make sure you hire the right company. The existing surface must be acid-etched so the paint has something to adhere to

I have only seen ceramic tile paint. It scratches really easy. I wouldn’t do it.
I’ve seen it done on HGTV on like back splashes. I also seen it once in a restaurant restroom floor. It looked bad because it was scratched up from foot traffic. You could seen the original color in the scratches.
