"Some other acidic substances are orange juice and soda, which have a pH rating of three. Tomato juice and acid rain are also acidic substances, with a pH rating at four. Black coffee and urine are also considered acidic substances with pH ratings listed at five and six, respectively. There are also some substances with acidic pH ratings that may surprise people like bananas, which have a pH rating of five, or milk, which has a pH rating of six."

To address  your question...Knowing that urine will etch some marble and travertine, and if the information in this article is accurate, then it's certainly possible that the tap water could be etching your customer's floor.

Have you tried testing this yourself, using their tap water?

Greetings all, Customer has what seems to be very sensitive marble,
installer says it's called "Confusion" She's getting etch marks all
over, We tested the tap water pH and got a 6.0-6.2 pH level. could this
be the cause of the etching. any thoughts on a solution?

Thanks

Stephen
