Carrara for most part, in our experience, seems to polish better, after a 400 grit diamond hone.  When we have taken Carrara up to a higher grit and then polished, we can’t get it to pop a good shine.  The problem in this case might be, that the Carrara, in the two type stone layout, may not pop as well.  I would explain this to the client.

Before installation these tiles were at their best because the tiles were all of one material while being polished at the factory.   This time it is a different scenario, since the marble has been installed with two types of marble material and with different amounts of calcium, and differences in the mohs scale of hardness.  You have one tile that reacts better to a higher diamond process verses the other, and again they both have differences in calcium content which changes the effectiveness of the acidic polishing compound.

Ok,  thats what my partner tried today, but he wasnt happy with the equalness of shine between the two colors. We have gone to a hertron one step,  which really pops the black, but we couldn't get the carrara up to the level that we wanted to be.  We are still in our sample board stage, so I'm not too worried about the time, I just want to make sure we are totally dialed in before we get on the job.  I will have him retry with a different Polish.  As you know, it's a fine line between awesome and orange peel.

All the floors are beat with tons of lippage.  I have to deal with picture framing, which I'm not to worried about that.  I would actually be afraid to try and grind it flat because of how uneven the floor is, I would probably be down to the subfloor LOL

Thank you.

Hi Dean,
What is the present condition of the floor.
Both materials are quite soft so starting with 220 resins should be sufficient. Take the diamonds up to 1800 and polish with a good quality 5X.
Then after its dry lightly crystallize
