Joe We do A lot of chemicals stripping with methylene-chloride here in California. It hasn't been out-Lawed yet. it's very fast and efficient but it's taking us several years to master The use of it. In the beginning it created a lot of damage that I paid for but it's fast so I never gave up on it.

I know VOC laws prohibit it in many states and a lot of you hate to use it.
But to touch on what Adam said about signing a waiver that's very important.
I have a disclaimer on my estimates. when they sign the contract it's their responsibility to have read it already but I still pointed it out as needed sometimes I have them initial it.
It says " Stone restoration comes with the risk of baseboard swelling and peeling patriot take every measure to protect baseboards. Customer agreed to except responsibility for baseboard damage and risk associated with floor restoration"
Stone floors and MDF baseboards are a losing combination. So leave yourself and escape clause.

You can also use Ax-it from Betco. It dissolves urethane sealers.
Agree with all previous replies. Have customer sign a waiver covering you from being responsible for potential damage to baseboards,  walls, and adjacent floors. It is almost impossible not to remove paint from the baseboard shoe.
Charge a lot because it is smelly and tedious job. After stripping,  clean the floor with a spinner if you have one. It makes big difference. Dry for 2 days and seal with color enhancer.
Good luck.
