When you say Repair, if you're referring to making it look new again, it depends on what type of marble it is. Typically we'll diamond With 220 and Polish with Dai-glo. Some marbles need to be diamond honed at 220 then 400 then Dai-glo. 

That's In general, it works in most cases. 
Today we used a compound called Velotex for a medium Shine on a limestone that had a polish but very worn. There were cat vomit spots that I was certain needed diamond honing 1st before a polish. but my techs did a test and no pre-honing was needed that was already charged for on the estimate. 
The estimate consists of assumed step. Sometimes you have to do more sometimes you don't have to do them at all.
