Mike makes a good point. We are so use to running aggressive diamonds we forget the obvious .
Sent from my iPhoneMaybe I missed something but did you try an aluminium oxide honing compound? This is the obvious answer. Maybe start with a lower grit. AO is very hard and should cut it and will allow you to get into the low corners. If you use hard diamonds you will have another problem with framing no doubt. On 12 Apr 2017, at 3:55 am, Stuart Rosen <mail@stoneshine.com> wrote:Tony-I wouldn't worry about cutting the green marble. You can even work around the green and leave it polished. It would be a nice contrast with the main floor being honed. We do a lot of floors like that-designers love that stuff-I don't know the size of the floor or the name of this stone. Sometimes(probably a hard marble) it can be hard to break a polish on a surface.I would recommend that you use 3 inch electroplated diamonds, Hybrid copper diamonds or 120 coppers to break the polish. (or a combination of those)The 120 bulgarian electroplated pads that we sell will give you a nice clean scratch pattern that can be followed by a 220 copper hybrid then back to resins or even poly pro or vortex.Did you try a vortex black dot ? Also I would speak to the client about possibly flattening this floor. On Tue, Apr 11, 2017 at 8:29 PM, Scott Wilson (via sccpartners list) <nobody@simplelists.com> wrote:Are we certain that this is not a rectified polished porcelain?Looks like it me,and if it doesn't react to acid , it ain't marbleBest RegardsScott WilsonWilson Stoneworks Inc
Sent from my iPadNeed some advice on this floor. Floor is polished. Taking to honed finish. Has green marble insets and border. Cannot get a clean cut with 120 resins, do not want to go to low on the green marble. This marble does not etch. I tried several acids and tjere was no etching.--
