Mike I said klenztone was the best cleaner on travertine, I didn’t say it cleaned the micro pits. I have personally cleaned external travertine with micro pits with 4200 psi with no results.

Pressure does not work but it does help. These pin holes are like the tip of an iceberg. There is a bigger hole below that is filled with dirt. I have tried on ext. surfaces with 3000 psi and a turbo nozzle. Didn’t do a thing. Klenztone is not the answer either.

I agree with Joyce, The way I usually handle it is I give them a ballpark cost and let them know that grout repair and epoxy whole Fill is the step that needs to stay open for additional costs because you never know what's gonna wash away until you're all done.

Using a spinner or a low moisture pressurized steam machine will work but be prepared that it will pop out more fill as the entire travertine floor is likely to have fill in it.  The customer needs to be aware of this so that you are not doing the fill job on your dime.  Filling can be very time consuming and you need to be confident that the customer will cover all of your expenses.

For deep pitting on the floor after we do the hot blast, we bring in leaf blowers to blast all the water out. When you got three or four of them on the floor it works very fast

Hell guys I would use a spinner with a good vacuum with  after the Brush for cleaning. I would then dry steam for details cleaning the use a heater to dry the floor test the floor before the cleaning for how wet it is. Then dry till it comes back to the reading you took .
I always get the bad and hard jobs. Don’t forget to seal and fix the holes , that always extra. Charge by the day for holes and repairs I like 1500.00 for holes plus supllies.

Ron,

In all the years I have tried, I have never found a solution for digging the soil out of the holes in travertine. Do you think the tines of a malish brush can dig the soil out of those holes??

Mark,

Travertine, extremely dirty. A malish brush and neutral cleaner would do wonders on this floor. Best of luck.
