Is it black “granite” ?

Yes , I have seen granite etch from CLR  when used full strength and I have seen it etch if toilet bowl cleaner is left on a surface for an extended period of time. we usually see this on the darker color granite. Rare but it can occur. Usually there are traces of calcium in the granite and that etches.
Hone it and repolish it

It should etch but it will leave residue.  Pic would help

Hi Guys,
We just had a close friend of a customer call in a panic because he used CLR, a strong acid on a "granite" sink and it left "etching".  We are going to go look at it.  We don't know whether it reacted with a seal or whether the matrix is made up of  calcium based stone and resins and it truly etched it.  Does anyone have any experience with this?
