We have done a number of blue stone patios this past spring. If you can't go through an accurate test for absorption, you might estimate the worst case based on the Manufacturer's coverage estimate, and tell the client that you will give them the sealer you don't use. The problem with many sealers bought on-line is that you can't return the unused sealer. I should preface this by saying that we charge for labor separately and then add on the estimated cost of material plus 20%. Also, we fill joints with polymeric sand and charge on the same basis for that. I buy that locally and can return unused bags. The other thing you can charge extra for is spraying with D2/s biological solution in order to eliminate the green biological growth (if any)

Blue stones are very porous-my thought is how can you establish a price if you don't know how many applications to seal the stone.
Also is the installation going to have any grout joints, looks like they plan to butt join the tiles-that will fail over time.
I would charge more than 2 bucks a sq ft and write a good contract-

I would do a sealing test patch to make sure you get the desired results. I have heard of people having issues with sealing blue stone !

Hi partners

We will be cleaning and Sealing Bluestone. With a Fila cleaner and Fila sealers. Can you suggest a scrubbing pad or a brush for this type of material. Attached is a picture. Please let me know your thoughts. Also I'm charging $2 per square foot. Just would like to know if you guys think this is a competitive number. Thank you for any information I can get from you
