Are the deposits hard or soft?  If you can scrape easily with a fingernail, they might be water solulable salts also known as efflorescence.  The thinset and the backer board are likely to also have water solulable salts that, in the presence of large amounts of water, could migrate to the surface and deposit there.  Of course, hard water or overly softened water is the most logical culprit but don't forget this as a possible reason for white deposits.  We see it often where water penetration or water leaks occur.

Looks like calcium build up to me as well. I would hit it with a mild acid and than rehone and polish. Also check for moisture, Toliet may be leaking

I am guessing but is it calcium or hard water build up?  Try some CLR on it or the XGen blue cleaner degreaser?

Looks to me like some kind of chemical reaction.

Hey guys, I've attached a couple of pictures one of my clients sent me (last pic is what the grout is supposed to look like). Anyone have any idea what could make the grout turn white? This is a janitorial company and the customer thinks bleach was used on the grout but the company doesn't use bleach. Let me know what you think.

Thank you,
