I have been very successful using DE Powder and acetone mixing into a poultice applying, covering for at least 24 hours

Make the acetone poultice on the wet side verses a dryer poultice.

I this application has been very successful.

Subject: Re: poultice for removal of mineral oil stains

After the de-greaser-

Did you happen to try some heat-use a torch over it.

Mineral oils can evaporate-the heat may help it go-if that doesnt work.

Use a paper towel poultice of bleach-just leave it on for an hour or two-should work.

some schools teach to follow up a non-volatile oil with a volatile such as acetone. it reactivates the oil and help it to evaporate from the surface.

Client has stains on her marble vanity, caused by spilling mineral oil. Unfortunately, they are not fresh. I'll first apply a cleaner/degreaser to attempt to pull up any remaining oil residue. Ideas for poultice liquid? Paint thinner, stripper?
