Thought I'd give an update on these mineral oil stains. I mixed degreaser (Modern Clean) with DE & let it sit for 3 days. Most of the stains were fully removed. A few required a second application.

For future reference....I added the degreaser in it's concentrated form. In hindsight, I should have diluted it, as it lightly etched the marble.

Subject: poultice for removal of mineral oil stains

Client has stains on her marble vanity, caused by spilling mineral oil. Unfortunately, they are not fresh. I'll first apply a cleaner/degreaser to attempt to pull up any remaining oil residue. Ideas for poultice liquid? Paint thinner, stripper?
