The other thing might be that the floor was not totally clean before the final (I assume 800 grit) hone. This happened to us this month and so we really super cleaned the floor again with an autoscrubber and re-honed the floor. Did the trick. If you are honing dry and there is dust left on the floor, the diamonds will ride over the dust and not cut properly.

Stuart, Thanks for that added portion. I would like to recommend Ameripolish 3D SP is their guard product has great repellence and it will cure without burnishing if the concrete doesn’t require a higher shine. We have used this product for years after comparing to other guard products.

This video at the 50 second mark shows Ameripolish’s impregnator repellence and their guard product will repel just like it.

One way to fix it:

Densifie the area your talking about and let it set overnight or 24 hrs at-least.  I use ashford formula. Wet area in front of grinder with a mist of water weting on concrete... load grinder with 120 metals or sti grout pans. Cast out grout…granquartz has a good polishable grout…

broom it out over the area and then mist over it latex mixed with water 30% latex the rest water, then densifie the area again after you ran the grinder over the area and grouted the floor and let it sit a couple hours..Then proceed.

This video below kinda give the jest of it.

Good luck

Hey All, Ive got a small 500sf slab I polished and Half polished out great and the other half just wont polish as nice. The bad area seems more opened pored. Could there be a difference in the porosity between the two areas?(same pour) Is there any tricks to deal with more porous areas that wont pop as well as the rest?

thanks
