I agree with Bob-Just to add- Onyx is soft and very sensitive to acids-treat the same way as marble-polishes up very well.
MB-22 works very well on Onyx-

Here is one that was done locally here in the Knoxville area. I can tell you that it is softer than most marble and will require routine polish maintenance. This one is done at least every 12-18 months. Treat pretty much like marble. Alabaster is also similar in nature.
