Not sure that is granite Roger. Do an acid and scratch test to confirm. In any case, I would hone using the Flexible Electroplate Pads maybe at a 70g or so after determining how hard the material is. You should be able to smooth out the eroded areas fairly easily. Once repaired, be sure to impregnate heavily to help the stone resist penetration going forward. Make sure the client uses non-abrasive pads (like the blue ScotchBrite) to help avoid routing the stone out again. Use of a good Stone Soap should also help.

I would appreciate any suggestions on the potential repair. They have a granite sink. As you can see in the attached pictures, a lot of the areas have eroded out. My question, should I have the drain cover removed and grind down below the damage. Or possible skim coat the area with a tinted  penetrating acrylic ?  Or run?
