What have you tried

Maybe hone a tile and try a poultice - maybe assume it’s a oily hair or body lotion. 

Start simple and test

Paper towel and bleach on just one tile

How porous is that material?

The customer is not offering any suggestions on what caused it...he believes that the maid service caused it, but they are not owning it. I got a first hand look today. It doesn't appear to be etch marks, as they are darker than the stone & the reflectivity & gloss has not been impacted, when looked at up close.
