Interestingly, I was able to scratch the grout to dust with my
finger nail
If the install is good and there isn't any flex in the floor, Its possible the installers mixed a bad batch of grout. A quality unsanded grout by itself should work fine provided the joints are a minimum of 1/16 ", solid install and the grout can be pushed deep into the joint. You could always mix the grout with latex but if grout is failing I would find the cause first-

Try urethane grout from Bostik. It is called Quartz lock2.You have to remove old grout at least 1/8 deep but deeper is better. 2 person install is easier. One person installs and second is doing cleaning. Also buy haze remover to buff the floor with it next day.Good luck.

Hey all, Customer has a two year old installation of 24" porcelain tile,
3rd floor condo, and the non sanded grout is coming out in several
places, Tiles are not loose. I expect the building moves a bit. Is there
a grout product that may be a bit flexible you would recommend?
Thank you
