Never comment on a regional stone if you have never worked in the area. I stand corrected. Yikes!

Subject: Re: Coating for CoralI absolutely agree with Dr Fred !! Walk away from this oneI lived 25 yrs and still do a fair amount of work in the Florida Key,I have dealt with many square miles of (coralstone) I.E. "keystone" mined in Florida City.In the late 90's I was called to look at a project very similar, where someone came and tried to urethane coat and fill a coralstone floor with a pour on material like they use for bar coats. I was told by the costumer that he filled to overflow three applications and it just kept penetrating into the extreme porosity, never achieving desired filled ,coated results. It looked shiny in spots but was mostly an orange peeled disaster. After much pushback, we demoed the ruined floor and installed a rectified ,polished porcelain floor.customer could not have been happierMy two centsBest RegardsScott WilsonWilson Stoneworks Inc
Sent from my iPadI would walk away from this one. Coral has very large holes which are hard to fill and it will be a nightmare to maintain in. My guess is they filled it with urethane or expoxy.

Hi partners,
I have a potential customer that has Coral inside her home. This customer said she is tired of the holes that is present. She doesn't want them filled with fillers. She explained to me she visited a museum that had the same material, but had a clear coating that covered the floor and filled the holes. This is the look she would like us to accomplish. Does anyone know of a product like this?
