If it is scratched up Adam, that tells me it is not that hard. True Kirkstone is a type of slate from England. Shouldn’t really etch that easily but if it scratches easily, marble diamonds should work fine. I have refinished Burlington Stone which is a similar variety and it responds fairly well when honing.
