Look up chemical supply distributers.  get 35% you will probably have to by a case of 4.  I pay a little over $ 20.00 per gallon and you may need to provide yot business license.

I agree with Bill
Unlikely it would be rust

You sure it's rust and not carpet glue/mastic.  For rust you can try rsr2000 or poltice with peroxide in between grinding while the stone is still open.  Then proceed with your honing and polishing.  You may not be able to always remove 100%.

Ok,  how aggressive do you recommend for something like this? Maybe a 30 grit metal? When you say core sample, you mean using a core drill to see how deep it goes?  In our case, it was a pretty large area. I can't imagine cutting out that whole section and patching it up would be a solution a customer would be willing to live with.

Those 70's are metals-the 120 are coppers.
You may need to go deeper-we test using a few various methods when we run into deep staining-we use very aggressive sandpapers and or cupwheels to see how deep the stain goes. If we cant reach it we take a core sample and show it to the client. (provided you can refill the hole)
Then we can attempt to poultice if client wants us to-some stains can work themselves way deep.

Started with the 70 grit copper metals we ordered from you Stu. That section we concentrated for 7 minutes. I felt like that was really deep

That is the only up close picture I took. I didn't think about taking any other pictures. I dropped the ball on that one

Hi partners,

We recently completed a Terrazzo restoration. During the process we encountered some very deep rust stains. Unfortunately,  we were unable to remove all of the stain. Fortunately for us it was in an area that was going to be covered up by cabinets. Can anyone suggest the best method for removing these stains. We have another one lined up and I do not want to run into the same problem!

Thank you in advance for your help
