There are many options Stuart and it is only limited by your budget.
One of the most economical and ergonomic methods would be like Stu is suggesting.
We have a 20 gal wetvac with a front floor  mount option, which works very well and could be used with a weeping type filter bag. A possible Issue with that is how fast or slow the weeping might restrict your use. Depends on the micron size of weave.
Another method would be to use thickener to help. Simply drain your wet vac slurry to a drum or similar type container, add the magic dust and stir. This will solidify the slurry.
There are bigger machines called filter presses which turn the slurry into solid cakes.
The theme here is turning the slurry into a solid for easy and compliant disposal.
These are a few ideas to consider...
