Baird. I would not use a stripper at all then. I would use a deep
cleaner or floor prep. Even a neutral floor cleaner at 4 times the
normal mix and a red or green pad with a slow speed should work. After
this deep scrubbing I would then rinse the floor well. Spartan makes a
great floor prep. If the floor is not completely smooth I would spray
buff the floor or apply a mop on restore and then buff the floor then
add your new finish for a good blend and protection.
Never dry buff this tile if there is no finish on the floor. You might
want to wear a dust mask for added protection but is probably over kill,
but that is good sometimes.

I know that Vinyl Asbestos Tile is the precursor to Vinyl Composite tile. VCT just doesn't hold up that well over many years typically, but this stuff looks to be in good shape. The whole project is a restoration project involving tile, marble and wood, so they would like to retain it if possible (and perhaps save some bucks). Anyone out there have experience with restoring this stuff. I was thinking of cleaning and color enhancing perhaps or coating with polymer. Am planning on doing a test at some point this week.
