RE: [sccpartners] how do you get the factory polish back on John Freitag 15 Jul 2010 08:50 EDT

Kris

I have found when using concrete densifiers most of the time there is not
enough dwell time for the densiflier to work. I learn may years ago when
using a concrete densiflier to wet the floor and keep it wet for a minimum
of 45 to 60 minutes. Then vac up the excess material. Then take a finish mop
and mop on a thin coat of the densilfier and allow it to dry overnight, the
next day come back and finish you honing you will achieve a better stronger
finish.

This is why we see today many concrete polishing job start to show wear in a
short time. The floor that were done as I mentioned above wear much better.
The problem is today everyone wants to put down the densiflier and let it
work for 30 to 45 minutes and then continue grinding, in many cases they are
grinding wet and you never allowed the densifier to do its work and the wet
grinding dilutes the densifiler and the concrete never reaches it maximum
hardness, thus resulting in a softer finished product. Yes it take a little
longer but the results are better.

Thank you for your input. Yes we have burnishers and propain buffers and
we are a distributor for Americo so we have all those pads. So work more
towards dry and higher grit then granite process.
Great thanks.
