Kris, I prefer using a drop of vinegar to see if it fuzzes, this is the method I like best, the problem is some of the harder stone it take longer to react. If you use a more aggressive acid the result will be much quicker. Use an eye dropper to apply the acid. This way you are only testing a very small area. John E.
