Roger,
Try using some granite polishing powders and a crystallizer, the polishing
powders will bring the stone up to a higher hone and the crystallizer will
add the color and shine you need.

Subject: [sccpartners] Quartz
I have been practicing polish quartz. I have taken it up to 3000 with
ceramica ex pads and end up with a dull spot. What does it take to polish
that material?
Thanks,
RK
