Re: [sccpartners] glossy sealer for terracotta and quarry tiles Baird Standish 20 Apr 2011 09:16 EDT

I have used Aldon products many times, particularly mexiglaze on terra
cotta. Mexiglaze is the heaviest coating, but they have a full range.
Please be aware that they always recommend a sealer followed by a
topcoat. The topcoat (there's is Lifeguard but is like any thin
polymeric sealer) will not last by itself on terra cotta, but it will
protect the mexiglaze, which is tough but relatively soft. Later on it
can be reapplied over the mexiglaze. I recently ordered a sample of
Stone glamour sealer and Internacional finish from sparks. It is
basically the same system as far as I can tell and they also have a
range of products. I don't have much experience with them.
