RE: [sccpartners] Grout residue

Adam.
Cleaning the floor with a alkaline cleaner will not remove the grout film.
If you want to use your truck mount to clean the floor to remove a much sand
as possible that's ok
Then 5X the floor. The acid in the 5X will remove the grout film. The
alkaline cleaner will not cut through the grout film.
Once you 5X the floor the floor should have a great shine and the grout film
will be gone.

John,
They both the house with the floor already installed and they were never
happy with it so they asked me for help.
I am thinking about using my truck mount to clean it, instead scc marble
cleaner I will use my grout cleaner ( which is 14ph) and then 5x-it entire
floor.
No guarantees except that the floor will be cleaned and look better.

Adam.
First clean the floor sweep and then dust mop to remove most if not all the
sand from the floor. Then use a soft brush with neutral cleaner and apply a
lot of water and scrub the floor. The brush will or should remove most of
the loose sand from the grout lines. Then use your 5 X polishing powder and
repolish the floor. The 5X will remove the grout film from the stone.
however you can NEVER guarantee the customer the floor to be scratch free.
Question WHY do they have 1/2 inch grout lines ???? did the customer request
large grout line or did the installer just do the large grout lines ?

this is a good one... My thoughts are along the lines of a razor very
carefully, buff with 3m aqua pad, then re polish. The acid in the polishing
compound should remove any remaining haze.

Trying to pick your brains on how to remove sanded grout residue from
polished finish limestone with out scratching it. The grout lines are 1/2"
and grout, stone and residue were sealed.
Would you use twister pads? Any ideas?
