Adam,

What I would have done prior to starting the job would be to grout the
entire floor leaving the excess grout on the floor then grind off the grout.

Now that you have already ground the floor then I would still go back grout
the floor using a latex additive and then finsh you grinding and honing
process. Allow the grout to cure at least overnight before stating to grind
or hone the floor.

By grouting a floor you are going to flatten first will save your diamonds
during the first grinding process, keep this in mind for future flatting
jobs.
