Try some paint stripper it will probably remove it. It will need to dwell
for some time to break down the epoxy.

  Customer has severe epoxy (mapei) grout residue in limestone pores.
have tried the grout manufacturers epoxy grout haze remover and K&E coating
remover with no effect. Before we grind is there anything else we should
try?
