Chris,
Allow the poultice longer time to dry. Normally you would only have a
poultice 1/4 thick when you fill the hole the poultice becomes 1 to 1 1/2
inches thick and will take much to dry. This could take 48 hours or more to
dry. Also how wet did you make your poultice? It should be the consistence
of peanut butter or a pancake batter no wetter or it will take a longer time
to dry and could enlarge the wet areas until it start to dry.

Subject: [sccpartners] Poultice enlarged the stain
I applied a mineral spirits and DE poultice to a plumbers putty stain in a
faucet hole and the stain got bigger. I did wet the stain before applying
the poultice. Any recommendations?
The material is Calcutta gold polished marble
