Hi,
A customer asked us to clean and polish an approximately 100 year old
mosaic marble tiled foyer. We have done this kind of thing in the
past with good results. In this case, however, some of the small
tiles have been lost, cracked etc. I went to some tile places to see
if we could find remnant or leftover tiles that we could cut up and
use as replacements but came up with nothing. So my plan b may be to
just epoxy the cracks and cavities with acrylic based (polyethelene
based?) epoxy and then polish over. But am wondering if anyone has had
experience or stories about fixing up this sort of thing. I saw a
faux marble mosaic paint job in NY last summer which did't look too
bad. I have attached some photos. Thanks much.
