Hi Stephen, I use PL Glue by Locktite on my weighted 35lbs pad driver plates. It last usually about 4 years or more. I grind off the metal plate and spread out a thin even coat with a 2” disposable paint brush then cover it with masking film and place it face down on a towel and add weight to press on a firm bond.
18 or more years ago I bought two separate rolls, one hook & the other loop of 4”x 100’ roll’s. I been using it for years to RE-Velcro everything that needs it.
On resin pads & metal bond diamonds pads I use the thick cyanoacrylate glue.
If the rubber & Velcro backing wears off your metal bond diamonds pads when they still have a lot of grit left just go buy a rubber mud flap at the auto parts store & use a 3” hole saw to cut out replacements.
I always cover them with masking film so they don’t bond to anything because I always use a lot of weights to press a solid bond.
Good luck

Might put on the velcro spacers on the new velcro so the risk of pulling off the new velcro is reduce. Good luck. I’m sure their area many more good ways to do it. This has worked for me. Good luck.
